A Practically Perfect in Every Way Baby Shower

My ever so amazing sisters threw me my first Baby Shower yesterday. It was absolutely amazing. Complete with family, Mary Poppins trivia, laughs, yummy food, beautiful gifts... It was a jolly holiday! I am truly blessed with wonderful people around me. I simply cannot wait for Buttercup to arrive and feel all the love around her. Thank you (times a zillion) to everyone that took part in the festivities. It was truly humbling. I love allll of you!

SISTERS!

The amazing cake that matched the invitation PERFECTLY!

Vicki did all the decorations by hand. Look out for her. She's going to take Martha Stewart by storm.

The Puj Tub!

My mom went above and beyond with this one! She had a basket FULL of giraffe goodies. Then she came out with this. I just love it! And does Mom look little in this picture or what?

Christine found this vintage gem. It's almost identical to one that my Mother made when she had her first child. When I opened it, it began a funny dispute of Christine getting upset with Mom for throwing it out long ago!
Sidenote: Christine also wrote a beautiful poem for Buttercup. I read it aloud and it choked up a bit. But reading it again today, in Buttercups room, surrounded by bags upon bags of her goodies, I bawled my eyes out.

My Aunt Sue re-gifted this amazing vintage Mary Poppins doll. Grandma gave it to her around the time the movie came out. I about died when I opened the box! I just adore it!

Vicki had this onesie custom-made. "My daddy is a dj What does your daddy do?" Perfection!

We were so excited about the cake, we went picture happy with it. Christine's close friend, Nancy, made and decorated it. She did the decorations all free-hand!

Christine, Leta and I all wore Toms... not planned!

My brother in law drew this adorable drawing for Baby Buttercup!

The answer sheets for Mary Poppins Trivia. My sister in law, Joy won with 8 answers correct. It was so much fun to hear people's answers.

It was a spectacular day. Now, I must go find room for all the lovely goodies for Buttercup.

THANK YOU EVERYONE! Mommy and Daddy Navarro and Baby Buttercup love you with all our hearts!

24 Weeks, Crib final decision, Chicken and Carpel Tunnel

It's official... I am 6 months pregnant! Baby Buttercup is growing mighty fast. We saw friends last night for game night and they were just raving about how much I've grown in just one week.

She's moving around like crazy. The movements are still pretty low although I feel a little kick or punch up higher. I see the doctor tomorrow for a monthly check up. I'll get to hear her little heartbeat!

Today we went to Treasure Rooms so Andres could check out the cribs that mom and I saw last week. We spent a good amount of time in there wandering and picking the salesman brain. Who, by the way, is just amazing. He was so helpful, took us seriously and was on the same page as us. We finally came to a decision. We went with the Pali Novara Crib and matching dresser/changing table. We just felt much better about going with one that we saw in person and could feel it out. Also, they deliver AND assemble it for you. The only set-back is that it takes up to three months to get in. The salesman said the latest it'll get to us is April 11th. Just as long as little Buttercup arrives on schedule, we'll be just fine.

So, what did we do after we placed the order and down payment? We got lunch. Now, why is that exciting? Well, we got lunch at Chick-fil-a. I wanted waffle fries. But once I looked at the menu, my craving kicked in and I wanted chicken. Now, keep in mind I haven't had chicken in many years. Haven't had Chick-fil-a since I was in highschool. I am no longer a vegetarian! It started with turkey and it has now gone to chicken. Buttercup has a real influence on my taste buds!

What else does Buttercup have an influence on? She has given me some Carpel Tunnel. I noticed a few weeks back my right hand going numb. Almost like it was asleep. I did't think much of it until last week when I was in the middle of doing a haircut, I all of a sudden couldn't feel my finger tips. Then I couldn't feel my entire hand and the sensation ran up my arm. I called the doctor immediately and he said it was Carpel Tunnel. Apparently it is common with pregnant women. It's only painful sometimes but the numbness is almost constant. It makes doing hair pretty uncomfortable but manageable.

Well, that's all for now.

Just a bit preoccupied....

21 Weeks Pregnant with a baby girl!

I had a really rough first trimester. I spent most of it either sleeping or getting sick. All while working 6 days a week. I won't try to sugarcoat it, it was rough. I did a lot of research on blogs and talking to fellow mothers in my life. I seriously felt as though I was alone in how bad I had the morning sickness. I would get so upset when woman would tell me how they never felt anything and felt great the whole time. I felt so alone and so scared. I've been waiting for these moments for so long. I finally have these precious moments and all I can do is feel as if I were on my death bed. I was so worried that it would be the case for the entire pregnancy. It finally eased up mid-November. It started Labor Day weekend. Andres had to take me to the hospital because it got so bad that I couldn't keep anything down for 3 days, I fainted and had to get an I.V. for fluids. But I think I'm back on track. Although, those 2.5 months of feeling so low and sick and tired, made me feel as if I couldn't accomplish anything. Hence the lack of blog posts, and the pile up of laundry, and dirty house. (But alas, hubby is cleaning right now. Whew!)

What else has happened?

We bought a new car! No more Fatima the Rav 4. Now I'm cruising around in Reginald Sassifras (named by my bestie, Gretchen) the Honda Element. It's awesome. Our little family car.

Next week is my last week with the twins. I will officially no longer be a nanny! How many times have I said this? I used to always say after each nanny job I had, "The next child I will care for will be my own." And that never was the case. But this time, it is. I will be a mommy instead of a nanny. It's amazing to think about. It's so bittersweet. I will have 2 extra days off which I need so badly. But I am going to miss the girls so much. Yes, they are my nieces but... I cherish the 2 days we share together. I have watched them grow and I love our time together. I will be visiting quite often. It just won't be the same.

Oh yea and today is Christmas! Merry Christmas everyone! We had a great time with my family. We are so lucky to have such an amazing family. I love the Kiefer's. Unfortunately, Andres' family is out of town so we don't get to see them during the holidays. His retail schedule doesn't allow it.

It's crazy to think that next Christmas we will be playing Santa Claus!!!

WE'RE HAVING A BABY!
